The New Plan Kevin Seawright Has To Help Baltimore Residents

Kevin Seawright is a longtime entrepreneur and accountant both in the government and private sector. His connections have been with the City of Baltimore the longest, and that includes the latest business project he’s been a part of at RPS Solutions. What this company does is take older homes of Baltimore and renovate them to make them more affordable.

The initiative of the company has been to help first-time homebuyers, especially minorities find homes that are located in safer neighborhoods and that meet their needs.

Seawright has talked over and over again about how excited he is about this company and how positive he feels that he can give back to the community through it. Several people including a former young man he used to mentor have said they already can buy better homes thanks to RPS Solutions.

Kevin Seawright has been acclaimed many times for his ability to manage city budgets, wisely allocated municipal bonds, and adhere to some of the best accounting practices in his line of work. He started out as a manager for various departments in Baltimore including the public school systems and city services.

He also implemented programs to make the city’s response units more effective, including CitiStat which includes in-depth analytics of each department and lets the mayoral office make informed decisions about where to allocate resources.

But after years in accounting and fund management in the public sector, Seawright decided he wanted to join urban development companies to change the infrastructure of the inner cities.

According to Crunchbase, one of thee first private sector companies Kevin Seawright made a name for himself in was Tito Contractors, a Washington D.C. construction company that undertook both residential and commercial building projects. Seawright was responsible for administrative and financial functions at Tito.

He also served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Newark Economic Development Corporation for about a year, but left when he saw an opportunity to start RPS Solutions.

In addition to being a real estate entrepreneur, Seawright is also on the boards of the Babe Ruth Museum, National Black Public Administrators, and National Black Public Accountants. He also has a certification in executive leadership from Notre Dame’s Mendoza Business School.
